I first met Joyce as we took our children to Newlaithes Infant School. She has often recounted how she remembered my son showing the class how he could put his own coat on, while we were at a first visit, before starting Reception. We became friends and I came to know an intelligent, caring woman who was devoted to her family.  Joyce took care of my two children when I went into labour with my third. I still remember them trotting down the driveway, secure in the knowledge that they would be safe and have a lovely time. I am glad Joyce has now been released from her physical struggles and hope she can be at peace, knowing she had a life well-lived.
